PLEASE be careful, the head should be removed and buried or burned, many bits occur after snake is dead

Chunky sucker. How many rattles did it have? Looks like a ton.

Pretty snake, cute girls, brave girls...but man that head makes me nervous, dead or not, seen the nerves react long after death.

Cool pic up

Ditto on removing the head. The head can hit by muscle reflex.

This is true. Even dead, the muscles can still move around and that head could bite you...That is a big one.

Dead for over 24hrs? Not in the freezer, looks pretty fresh to me, taxidermist not gonna like that if he was out for 24 hrs. Looks a little warm too, hope you got em cold sooner than that, tend to turn pretty slimy on the inside if not

Re: Big Rattler - 11/25/14 09:33 PM

you would pretty much have to put you hand in the mouth to get a bite after an hour of being dead. Also said he taped it up. but yeah they can bite and even strike sense the "pit" works as a sensor on both sides of its face...
