The spike that wouldn't leave me alone.

The spike that wouldn't leave me alone. - 11/11/14 02:28 PM

I had four days to hunt in how season and the only deer that I saw was this spike. I watched him every morning and night at the same spot fifty yards away walking down the trail. He would not come into the feeder nor the food plot. He gave me a shot a few times broadside at fifty yards but I never felt comfortable enough to take the shot. I got down late last night to hunt until Thursday and this morning the spike was at the feeder and would not leave me alone so for terrorizing me all the days I now hunted he took and bullet and dropped we're he stood.

The 243 does it's job again with one shot. He will make some fine jerky and summer sausage.

Thank y'all. He is in the cooler on ice. So now I can relax and not worry about getting some meat. Here until Thursday so we will see if I can get my girlfriend to shoot a buck. I need to stock up on some jerky.

Nothing tonight. Of course it was all I could do to get her to stay there for a little more than an hour or so. Getting better but it helps when stuff is moving to keep her interested bang

The Berger hybrid did its job too. Shot just behind the shoulder and what you see is the exit right through the should. Heart turned to liquid, made for a easy tracking job.
