Great photos. I used to volunteer down there cleaning aircraft and emptying oil trays with the Scouts when I was in middle school in the early '90s. I haven't been back in years.

Look at the flag behind the command car. You can see the water line (7 feet) when hurricane Ike flooded the museum.

BEECHCRAFT AT-11 Used by US Air Force to train Cuban bomber crews to use bomb sights and turret guns. This one was captured after the Bay of Pigs.

Any pilot who flew Mustangs had a big smile on their face. One fine fighter. The Red Tails flew Mustangs and saved many a bomber crew.

The ponies are fine, but that big blue Corsair is something special. Love those gull wings.

I didn't notice until you said that, but its a 48 star flag to boot.

The flag is a WW2 burial flag.

The Corsair is really special. What a monster. I heard one being warmed up at an air show many year ago. I will never forget the roar of that engine. It was so loud it took your breath away. I can't imagine what it would sound like on a carrier deck with a bunch of them being warmed up and taking off.
