I just got our 79 CJ5 going again and decided I'd build a rack for it. This is my first thing to build using mig. I didn't take pics at every step but enough to see the progress. I welded 1/4" 2x2 under the bumper to act as receiver hitches. The platform is 1.5" 11 gauge, 1" 11 gauge on the top and 3"x1" 14 gauge for the top rail. I just have to get my swivels for the seats and come up with something for drink holders.

Weld horse shoes together to make drink holders and then wrap them with "vet wrap" to keep em from being noisy.
Vet wrap is at any vets office, tractor supply, or most feed stores.
