Big Boar Down!

Big Boar Down! - 09/01/14 12:05 AM

I had the opportunity to hunt private Land near Haggerman near Pottsboro last night. There is a lot of activity in the wood lines. I had several animals stalked but was not 100% sure they were pigs. Found this boar in a Milo Field from about 400 yards. We stalked to sixty yards and dropped him in his tracks with a 308. Girth was 49" and length from base of ear to beginning of tail was 48". Puts him at approximately 290

Pig was fat for sure, most of the big boars I kill are thick and dense, this one must have been in the milo all season

Big pig. I can't deal with the gnats right now. I'd rather drink beer than hunt.

Good times Ramsey, thanks for bringing the thermal out. Glad to have one less pig jacking with my feeders. Now I am gonna have to get me a thermal. That was a dang good time!

We'll have to have you back out to our place once it cools off and bugs aren't so bad. We got plenty more pigs to kill.

Here's some more pics of it:

We hooked a chain to it yesterday and pulled it off so we wouldn't have to smell it while we hunted the birds this morning. It's laying back in the corner.

Shot my dove limit not 50 feet from where it died so I was glad it wasn't still laying there getting ripe.
