Hey Fo4, my son got a holster at Cabelas for his SA 40 calHe is a lefty, but his gun is an XDm, which I think the size is just a bit different. Kydex is a thermoplastic (injection molded plastic), which is very durable. I believe that the RH holster you got with your gun is Kydex as well.

Kroyal used to make some really nice kydex but isn't at the moment. Check out Contact!Concealment holsters. Very good quality for a good price
