Here are a few pics of turkey at our place. There seems to be about 5 different groups. I don't know much about how turkeys live though. Can't wait to get a few though.
Looks like jakes, so there should be some gobblers around. Most people determine a trophy bird by the length of the beard and/or spurs. Seen some that talked about the weight too.
IMO, they are simply corn guzzlers that become targets for my slingshot during deer season. They can be fun to hunt, but I just assume we didn't have any. With that said, I will be at my place this spring and try to call one in for my daughter

Spur length is part of what makes a trophy gobbler. Beard length and weight are also factors. Also best indication of age on gobblers is spur length, the longer the spur the older the gobbler
