300 win mag ready - 03/01/13 12:05 AM

Well I picked up a m70 300 win mag a few months ago off the forum. Ordered timney trigger, Boyd thumb hole stock and od green dura coat. Added a drop bottom metal. Topped it off with Nikon Monarch 6-24x50-Also Pillared and bedded the stock. Hopefully it shoots as good as it looks
Before

After-might change base and rings

Stock was right at $100. The feel of it is great. The other rifle also has a boyds stock on it and it has held up great. We will see how this one does.

Nice looking rifle! How hard was the bedding? I have the same stock and thinking about doing mine. I seem to have a pretty good amount of side to side flex in the forend.

Bedding isn't hard just very time consuming you have to make sure you do it right other wise you will have a rifle and stock mated forever

question: the duracoat process, did you have to "cook" the metal in the oven? If so? did you use a conventional oven?
