Albino Buck Down in PA

Posted By: TrophyHuntingAndFishing

Albino Buck Down in PA - 12/03/12 05:08 AM

He got him yesterday. There's a lot of discussion right now on whether or not it was the right thing to shoot it, but it was a legal harvest and met all the minimums in PA. Man, that would be a beautiful mount. Apparently he can make some big $$$ selling it to Cabelas or BPS.

Deer looks young, I am not going to lie here. I would shoot it if it walked out on my place. why not, you hunt for memories and that would be a full body mount for me. who else has one???

Re: Albino Buck Down in PA - 12/03/12 06:08 AM

yeah the age makes it an easy PASS if it weren't albino, but I've never seen a more mature albino buck that was harvested. If what they're saying about the big pay day with Cabelas/Bass Pro is true, it'd be a no-brainer for me. Someone was mentioning 6 figures.

It would be hard to pass up, regardless of age. Once in a lifetime opportunity.

I agree. Don't think it's albino. I'm pretty sure there are "white" whitetails and then there are also albino whitetails. I've also seen a black whitetail that a guy killed in East Tx. Definitely wouldn't pass it up though!!!! rifle

You guys are a joke with this age crap. It's a freaking albino, I don't care how old it is I'm dropping him. "Hey did you see anything?" "Yeah just an albino eight point but he was young so I let him walk" hahahahah!!! Are you kidding me?

I don't think anyone in here said they wouldn't shoot it, they just said he looks young.

I am all for letting them live, but I likely would whack him too.

Re: Albino Buck Down in PA - 12/03/12 05:17 PM

it is an albino.....look at the pink nose.

a all white piebald will still have a black nose and black eyes

Re: Albino Buck Down in PA - 12/03/12 05:21 PM

All this "he looks young crap....." Ain't a guy here that would not have shot that deer if presented the opportunity. Hell, I would have shot him myself.

CONGRATS on a fine ALBINO once in a LIFETIME KILL! Hope he sells it to CABELA's or BPS and makes a TON OF MONEY for it!

LOL. And yeah, apparently it's an albino rather than a piebald. the brown on the head was caused by rubbing. This is going to be one nice payday for the shooter.

Re: Albino Buck Down in PA - 12/03/12 08:25 PM

Haha. You guys make it hard to stick around this forum..Anyone would shoot it. i dont care how cool or "ethical" you are trying to sound. A fawn is prob the only thing off limits in this scenario. Otherwise

"if its white, its down"

That being said I passed on bigfoot because I thought he may grow a few more inches next year.

Re: Albino Buck Down in PA - 12/03/12 11:43 PM

For the folks that said any hunter on here woulda shot him, not true. We had one on our place in Georgetown 2 years ago. Solid white with a pink nose and normal eyes. We watched and fed him for 3 years before a damn bowhunter on the corp of engineer land shot him and did a stinking euro mount on him. I saw him at the processor and instantly knew it was him and my wife went as far as crying. He was like a pet to us and wa fearless of humans. My goal was to get him to 5 years or full potential and harvest him and do a full body mount. Darn sure didn't go my way but I wouldn't change things a bit. Maybe I'm not the norm but I did not and still would not shoot him if givin a second chance.

Re: Albino Buck Down in PA - 12/03/12 11:52 PM

See if you would have harvested him as a three year old, you would have a full body mount...blew it buddy, cost your self 100,000$
Posted By: Aboud

Re: Albino Buck Down in PA - 12/03/12 11:55 PM

Like everything in this world it would depend on the situation. At my lease yes I prolly would of shot him but as stated above on my family's land we enjoyed seeing him around. He was the talk of family and friends and the kiddos loved going to see him. You could toss corn out the window and he would eat right next to the truck. I actually found him abandoned by his momma when he could barely walk but left him there cause I figured she'd be back. After 2 days no sign of momma but somehow he survived off of food my wife would take him. After 2 weeks of feeding him he was gone and not seen for 3 months but he returned a healthy fawn but extremely tame which ultimately cost him his life a soon as he hopped the fence looking for some.

That's a load of BS. I highly doubt they'll pay that and hindsight is 20/20 buddy. Coulda shoulda but didn't. This is not as rare as most would think but is definitely a slim occurrence.

Agreed. Nobody is paying $100000 for that deer.

Re: Albino Buck Down in PA - 12/04/12 12:01 AM

From the research I did years ago If my memory serves me correct it is more likely that this was caused by generations of inbreeding and the stars lining up just right. Lol

never said lots just not enough for anyone to value paying 100k. After all I know I'm not that lucky of a guy to say I e seen the only one in Texas. If I'm not mistaken there was pics of another posted on here last year. Ill see if I can find it. Just because there not in your woods doesn't mean there not out there.

Upon further review, it looks like Cabela's doesn't want off-colored deer (Racists). And apparently they don't pay in the 6 digits either. Oh well. That'll make a fine mount for the home.

yes he was processed at brizendines and euroed by benendales. Might still be on brizendines website.

That's a shame Aboud. Also, for those wondering, Jon shot the buck with his great grandfather's Remington 600 in 6mm. I'll also upload some more pics tomorrow to clarify that it's a true albino. Stay tuned. Thanks.

Wait til you see the exclusive photos tomorrow. That first one I uploaded is not a good representation of the buck's actual size. He is DEFINITELY a shooter and is going to make one amazing mount. To those wondering, it was a neck shot.
