Not done with the ducks but really only had time for one more rifle hunt this year then I knew i would be done for the season. Have had so much fun hunting with my kids that I figured I should take their mother for the last hunt.
Called up Jim and explained we wanted to go hunting and not sure for what. He suggested we look for a couple of bucks to see if we could find a good one and also he knew I wanted a Blackbuck . We tried a couple of setups and saw bucks some that were hard to pass on but I have taken a straight 8 and I wanted one with some character. They are trying to thin their herd so I had many options. We stalked one that was all by himself in a field and 1 shot 1 down. No idea what He scores I just love how his main beams are 4 inches from touching and he has some nice tine length probably low 120's but a trophy to me.
Then we headed off to the field we always see the blackbuck crew hanging out. There were 6 bucks in the field but I knew what I wanted. I actually have video of this shot but my wife even though she knew it was coming jerked when I shot so it got real off.
What a day thanks to Jim Autrey and Curtis down at the Donihoo Buck Ranch. My wife saw over 40 Bucks as well as all kinds of axis and blackbuck which for a city slicker kept her interest for the entire hunt. She and I had a BLAST!!!!!!!
