I got a feeling his net score and gross score are going to be MILES apart!
Intresting looking buck though.

Re: Freak from the YO... - 11/15/11 12:11 AM
My dad is the one who shot him. I believe he had somewhere around 18 points overall with all of the trash.
Posted By: tightlines24
Re: Freak from the YO... - 11/15/11 12:12 AM
That don't look right. Definitely will score gross! Interesting though. Looks like a dead deer photo shopped on another deer's body. Just wierd! Is that ground showing between the head and the body?

By the look of that deers face and ears I dont think I would be handling it without gloves

Thats the ugggggliest I have ever seen!! That being said I would have shot him too.

Re: Freak from the YO... - 11/15/11 12:43 AM
Only seeing 15 scoreables I see him in the mid 130's at least. Can't really tell how to score the left beam and points not knowing what is the brow tine. So he should be around 140. Deer appears to have been stuck in a fight and going down hill. Hard to tell on his age due to his body condition. What is the story on this buck?
Posted By: GOLDSTEIN
Re: Freak from the YO... - 11/15/11 12:49 AM
Not sure of the story completely, but he was definitely on the way down. Left side mushrooms straight off the skull before the main beam continues upward. I was told over 9" on the base of left beam.

Re: Freak from the YO... - 11/15/11 12:57 AM
looks like a dove that got shot too close and the dog mouthed it a bit before bringing it back!
I would say he scores around 130. Almost impossible to say age by a photo being the deer looks like it got ran over. Teeth would be the better age guide here.

That dead deer looks very dead, like he had already started decomposing.

That thing looks like he was blind in one eye and couldnt see out of the other and his ears are in bad shape aswell. That must be why he got got couldnt hear or see anything coming.

Re: Freak from the YO... - 11/15/11 03:06 AM
Looks to be a very old deer in decline. His coat looks a lot like the northern deer do when they are putting on the winter coat. Any chance he is of northern strain? Definitely has cataracts in at least on eye. Be interesting to see how old he ends up being. A biologist from TPDW or A&M would love to see this deer. Keep us posted!

Exactly what I was thinking. Ugliest deer I have seen. Not talking about the rack just the body. I would have shot him also.

Stxranchman, do you know of any disease that deer are capable of that could cause that kind of look?

The only thing I can think of is this deer escaped from the Florida Everglades from trying to be swallowed alive. Got these pics in an email today.

This deer looks like he has been dead for quite a while and his head chewed on by the coyotes! I have never seen such a pitiful looking deer.
