Remember, hybrid doesn't necessarily mean 50%-50%. Once a cross has occurred, (especially since in one of their papers, TPWD has stated that hybrids may not be automatically sterile) the genes are there and only become watered down over time. Thus, I could have a whitetail with mule deer genes from two generations ago.
I know this is a hot debate, but folks only look at the black and white. Sometimes you gotta look at the gray.
FO4, nice deer by the way! My place is around Memphis and this gets me excited for when I'll be there later this month.
