Nobody around here is stripping cotton yet, wait until they start stripping and the gins fire up.

I guess everyone is a little late this year... the gin over by Bryan/College Station isn't ginning yet and they said they are running late... i guess weather plays a pretty big role, at planting and picking time. He was saying it may be around $280 a ton, so i was curious if any other gins were running out west/panhandle.

Doesn't it cause fertility problems with the bucks?

In pen raised situations it can if it is the sole or main diet but hasn’t been shown to in the wild. Most people cut it off prior to the rut if in doubt. The issues go away once feeding is stopped.

Don't worry about it in a wild environment.

If you want to start feeding it, do so in small increments first. We read up about it, went all in and loaded up every protein location we had a few years ago and the deer on our property (6,000+ acres) just never took to it. We are in Erath County. I wish they would have but for whatever reason, they just didn't.

They hit it hard at our place.

Wonder what spray they used on the plants you got the seed from. We fed it for years to sheep and goats, and about 1 out of 7 years they just wouldn't eat it very well.

No clue. I'd certainly give it another try but will do so in 1-2 spots to see if they take to it.
