It's on! My sister has a coyote problem

It's on! My sister has a coyote problem - 07/31/21 12:25 PM

This yote has been hanging around her house lately and killing her barn cats. We've been discussing what to do and the plan is to turn her house into a rather expensive blind. Popped the screens off a window and has the window cracked open enough to slide out her 17 HMR without spooking the yote. She tried opening the door but it spooks. Not many folks have a 2000 square foot blind.

Damm things love barn cats. I've lost a few to yotes myself. One cat had a close call last month but he's smarter today.

Should have had rifle in hand when the pic was taken.

Lots of critters have been shot out of house windows and they do really make for comfortable blinds. Good luck getting the yote.

Need a decoy? Looks pretty good and price is not bad.

I live in the county, I value cats more than dog's.

Had a barn cat last year that we had no idea where it came from as the ranch house is waaaay off the beaten path. He stayed around for 4-5 months then....gone. Don't know if a rattlesnake got him or a yote. We were sitting around the campfire one night and immediately behind use between the fire and the house we see it playing with a rattlesnake. eek2

we've lost 2 cats in the past 6 months, to coyotes I suspect. I have seen a huge male coyote 4 different times over the past 2 weeks but haven't had an opportunity to get a shot. I was leaving a rifle by the back door but the grandkids were here last week, so had to put it up. My blue heeler doesn't even bark at it, which I find very odd since she normally barks at anything close to her yard.

Had three in the pasture behind the house this morning. About a minute before I saw them there were three bucks within about 20 yards of where I saw the coyotes. Weren’t sure where the bucks were so didn’t take the shot.

I did the same thing in the middle of 75023 in late 09 when my beloved lynx cat got killed. I used a 22mag with a can and got 7 in the first week.

Neither the yote or the cats would get a pass at my house. Snakes take care of the rats and mice. I hate cats more than snakes. My daughter has two too many cats and i cant touch them according to my wife…

yotes & dove.....sometimes I think there's more in the city than in the country.

I could limit out on dove from my backyard and then pile the carcasses up and shoot plenty of yotes from the same spot.....I'd just have to get my neighbors to NOT turn me in...

Dirt hole set, #2 offset jaw. That way you can walk up to him and tell him what you think about his kind just before you shoot him. I dropped one at 300 yards off my back porch last week with a Tikka T3x 7mm08. He had caught a fawn few days before down there.
