I think bobcat.
Body doesn’t look as long as a lion to me, but could be wrong.

Re: Lion? - 12/17/20 03:35 PM

I think I see just a little bit of tuft on that left ear, which makes me think bobcat.

Short neck
Blunt face
Tuft
small ears

90% bobcat

If that's a bobcat, it's the first one I've seen with zero spotting or streaking in the fur. Perhaps it's pic quality but even some of the cheaper cams we've used would still pick that up. Covert is not a cheap cam either.

It’s a cat for sure. Mountain lion maybe, would need to see something for a scale.

No other pictures? Like of its tail?

Bobcats have pointed ears, mountain lions have round ears.

That is a bobcat, hopefully out trolling for some coons and rats around the feeder.

Likely a bobcat, possibly a big house cat.....lion? - Not a chance.

The price of the camera isn't really relevant here. It is a blurry, slightly over exposed IR B&W image of the top portion of a cat in motion, presented here at a reduced resolution. There are going to be troubles with seeing details.

I have killed cats with no spotting up top as well and no streaking that would be discerned with such an exposure.

The problem with some cameras is you only get a picture like this and don`t get to see the whole animal. The cameras take a picture to quick.

Too quick depends on how quickly the animal is moving into frame. The solution to that is to have the camera take multiple images.
