Wife wants to do a heli hog hunt, no idea why, but that’s what she wants. Has anybody here done them and have a company you recommend?

If I have land to hunt, will the helicopter come to me?

You'd have to hire an independent I believe. the business's are contracted with TPWD for certain properties that have signed up to participate. Or at least that the way it used to be

I'm fine with that. What's the cost, $2-3k per day?

More like per person normally with a minimum head count. That’s for going to them though,

Is it $2-3k per head per day or for 90 minutes? I didn't think you got a full day out of it which is why I've been reluctant.

Last time I priced it it was about 300 an hour but wouldn’t even turn the engine on unless it was booked all day.

I’m seeing $2275 per person, minimum 2 people, for 2 hours.

BP I remember that there was some videos of some guys that used to be on THF, maybe 2 or 3 years ago, that went HHH. They used AR-15s and knocked out a bunch. One of the videos was from Cameron,Tx. It had like 3 or four guys shooting. It didnt seem to be real high dollar.

Not sure if this guy is still doing the helicopter hog hunts but they did for a while here the counties around me. Not sure if they will do any hunts with deer season in full swing.

If you’re going to fly in a helicopter, please fly a turbine.

If I'm supplying the land and animals (or at least opportunity), I'm not paying 2275 for 2 hours.

See my post above....This is where my confusion comes from. Does the $2275 cover 2 hours or a full day?

I can make this happen. Deal is that I get a seat or 2 on the chopper. Need more than 4k acres to fly to make it worth the while

I cant point you in a direction of an outfitter but I can tell you that its the most fun you can have with your clothes on. Ive done it about 20 times now

Ive posted this a time or two, one of our best shoots

I agree, those little Robinson’s they use are death traps.

What if you have a big place and you want to get rid of hogs but you dont want to be a shooter. Are guys that run the shoots/flights looking for properties to fly?

It’s $2275 for 2 hours. They have some 6 hour hunts, but your pushing $6,000 per person.
