Confused about licenses - 09/12/20 01:58 PM

I'm 68 and about to pass my six month residency requirement to get a license. If I buy a Senior Super Combo Package, what can I NOT hunt or fish?

From the TPWD:

Super Combo License Packages

For Texas residents only. The "Super Combo" includes a hunting and fishing License and five state endorsements at a discounted price. For residents who hunt and fish freshwater and/or saltwater, the "Super Combo" package can save purchasers up to $18. The package includes:

Resident hunting license
Resident fishing license
Archery endorsement
Freshwater fishing endorsement
Saltwater fishing endorsement with a red drum tag
Upland game bird endorsement
Migratory game bird endorsement
Not included: The Federal Duck Stamp, which is required for waterfowl hunting, is not included.

Super Combo Link

You can hunt or fish anything in Texas with the exception of migratory birds that also require a federal duck stamp.

So, ducks are the only thing I can't hunt with the package mentioned. Well, that's what I thought, but just wasn't sure. Thank you.

You can hunt ducks and geese, but you will have to purchase the federal duck stamp. If you don’t hunt waterfowl, then you’re good to go.

And for the price of $32.00 since you are 65 or over, you are good to go...

Be sure to get the HIP (Harvest Information Program) certification on it too.

Also can't hunt sandhill crane unless you go to an actual TPWD office and get the free endorsement
