Made it another year

Made it another year - 08/15/20 05:00 PM

I called our land owner yesterday to find out how much I needed to send him for the 2020 deer season. I always dread making the call because you never know if you will get the dreaded "I am selling the place " or "a family member wants to start hunting the place" answer. I have been on 9 deer lease since 1984 and the longest one was being 9 years near Priddy and 3 others that were "Gar Holes" and we only stayed one year. I leased this place in 2017(Erath County) and he hasn`t gone up on the price at all. I am just grateful to have another year to be out in the woods and have an opportunity to enjoy the outdoors. I had a couple of nice deer show up on camera after the 2019 season was over so I am really looking forward to getting my feeder going and putting my camera out next weekend.

Count your blessings! Good leases are hard to find and harder to keep.

That's good news and good on you for being a realist about the place. Nothing stays the same , especially deer leases. 'Hope you get a big 'un. up

^^^^Concur with these 100% and most of the rest. Keep your gratitude higher than your expectations.
