Wild hog overpopulation survey for class - 07/14/20 01:42 AM
Howdy! I’m conducting a short survey for a research paper in a class I’m currently taking. If you own or lease land, I would appreciate your time and feedback. Thank you

Who says the pig population is “over” populated?
Well, that IS one of his questions in the survey!

Just did it.
I have 68 acres near Tyler and I thought hogs where great, but after a few years, I realized that I really didn't care for them. I tried shooting as many as I could, but I have a job and I have projects on my land that I want to spend my time working on. Earlier this year, a friend that I trusted started shooting hogs at night with a thermal. His two brothers joined him and in the last 3 months, they have shot over 80 hogs. Best night was 12 confirmed. 8 in one night is a pretty good night for them. It's rare that they only get one or two in a night. For the last two weeks, none of their game cameras have shown a hog on my place. I think they have finally made a dent in the population!!!!
All of a sudden, we are seeing deer during the day. I've seen more deer in the last week then I have all year!!!

I attempted it but the security on my computer wouldn't allow me to get to it ... might try later from phone or home computer

The one thing I didn’t see on the survey is poison control. Which I am against but I spend a lot of time trapping and hunting hogs. Which I enjoy.

Done and happy to do it. I'm one that would be happy if I never saw one of those nasty things again.

Always good to have a subtle Lonesome Dove reference!
