Deer Repellent Devices

Hi All,

Anyone make use of these motion sensor high frequency deer repellent devices? Looking for some feedback, reviews, best options and if anyone did any tests or trials to see if they work.

My ranch in the daytime is the best repellent I've ever seen

Put up a blind where you don't want them.

... now I have to ask, why do you want to repel deer?

I know my wife wants them repelled away from her rose bushes ... and I have found Liquid Fence truly does work miracles for those as long as you keep it applied frequently (note, do so upwind)

Find a hair stylist who will give you her clippings, but the best thing to do is not to make an area attractive to deer. Keeping them out of anything either is going to be extremely distracting or create a period of forever being vigilant.

What species of deer are you talking about?

Apologies, probably should of elaborated. It is for the vegetable side of our farming business. Here in South Africa fencing material costs are extremely expensive. We have over 50 acres planted to vegetables that we crop rotate so not all the arable land is planted to vegetables at one time. We have deep valleys and thickets running along either side of our land, perfect habitat for Bushbuck and Duiker. We would rather not shoot out the game as numbers are already under pressure due to poaching. I have already shot 2 old bushbuck rams just this month.
Was hoping there was a high frequency device that we could place in the lands that would deter the buck. During the Baboons raid the lands and they fair game for a lead sandwich but at night we would prefer to deter the buck than shoot them out.
Was looking for good quality devices in the States that one of our clients could ship over for us.

I have been told that you can take a couple of dozen eggs and mix them into a spray tank full of water and spray the mixture on the vegetation. The smell of rotting eggs is what keeps the deer from eating the plants...just have to redo it on a regular basis. I also heard that you can use sliced up jalepeno or any other really hot pepper in a spray mix also to keep the deer from eating the plants. Not sure how well either works just was told this years ago. I use a 5 wire(wire strands in rope) hot wire fence to keep WT out of food plots....built the fence about 4.5' tall and spaced the wires(ropes) about 9" from the ground up. High volt electric fence charge was needed to turn hollow haired WT though and it worked excellent. Key was putting it up immediately after planting so the deer got zapped before anything emerged from the ground. We left the fences up for 5-7 weeks on spring and fall food plots then took them down.
