One of the best uses of social media is to share with others, factual information concerning the advertised business practices of retailers. Now is the time to check the prices being asked of your usual suppliers so you can decide where to spend your money once the panic buying is over.

Just to clarify, retail pricing has nothing to do with Pittman-Robertson. Those taxes are paid by the manufacturer.

Adchunts, small point but companies do not pay taxes. Their customers pay the taxes.

I think MFG pays it when it ships. But it’s added in to the consumer

“Vista Outdoor paid over $87 million in Federal Excise Taxes during our fiscal year 2017 to the Pittman-Robertson Wildlife Restoration Fund.”

“Since its inception, $11 billion has been collected from manufacturers and awarded to states through the Pittman-Robertson excise tax, making firearms and ammunition companies the largest contributors to conservation”

Would be nice if the tax showed on a retail receipt. Would give a lot more visibility of the money we spend as sportsmen that goes directly to conservation.

A-freaking-men.

The company I work for doesn't adjust pricing based on demand for ammo, its the same today as. it was 6 months ago. We run seasonal ads, but that's about the only fluctuation you'll see.

Its nice to know some consumers still pay attention to stuff like that!
