shea.mcphail Mornings we usualy do the pheasant hunts...
Twas a cool morning, temps as i type show 23degress, with high winds...
Bro's son was visiting so the three of us headed out...First time ta hunt
with nephew... Watching the father-son team brought back memorries
of our father & son hunts..
With in 5 minnutes of the hunt was ready ta head back ta truck... had dressed lightly,
thin gloves, & the wind, blew right threw... As long as i keep moving i do good...
Yet it twas so cold the rofl ice twas freezing....
Then we hit the slew... Bro, knocked down the first one... Majority of the birds were
getting up early, way out of range... We have hunted the area several times,& the birds
are educated... Seen lots of roosters... Only one other bird twas hit... It went down in middle
Of slew, Ice twas break under the boots, reeds making it difficault ta manuver...The pheasant
wasnt hit real hard & it ran,the water was ta the top of the boots... Tis first pheasant the dog didnt
retreave this year... The restof the hunt stayed little warmer with the birds getting up, as said most were
too far out... & two hens & a rooster gotup between the two of us, Nephew & me with out shot being fired..
caught us off guard... Even though it twas cold, twas a Memmory shall not be forgotten....
Best iwsh's...
