Just thought I'd share a website that I've found to be very handy to monitor precipitation at our ranch. Climate.com has a program called FieldView that allows you to receive email reports anytime your farm/ranch/lease gets precipitation. I've been comparing the reports it sends versus what our rain gage shows, and find that it's typically within a tenth or two of being spot on. It's simple to use and allows you to mark your exact pastures on a satellite image (multiple if you want). Anytime one of your marked plots gets rain, an email get's sent, and you know what happened over the previous 24 hours. Very handy info if you're planning a lease trip, but not sure if rain made the roads impassable. Or if you are timing a food plot to be planted or fertilized. I know you can get similar info off of weather.com and other sites, but rain that hits the nearest city can completely miss your lease outside of town (and visa versa).
