Son’s First Turkey *Merriam’s”

Sunday morning my son and I finally managed to have a day where he didn’t have soccer and I didn’t have work so we were able to go on my sons first turkey hunt. After a few miles hike to the area I wanted hunt we had birds all over us, probably 30+ in and around us until one finally made a mistake and came in too close. My son made a great shot with the 12 gauge and put him down immediately. Great hunt on a beautiful morning and he is already talking about taking one with his bow next year. I’d say he’s hooked.

Very nice I was out with my son most from Friday til Sunday chasing merriams. They were gobbling their heads off on the roost but all but went silent once on the ground. Great bird better memories
