Pronghorn what should a fellow except?

Gonna knock this off the ole bucket list this year. Figured I'd see what I can get from here. Any information at all would be great. Suggestions on outfitters, certain areas better or worse, tag info, Texas or New Mexico, what rates a man should expect to pay, DIY or Outfitted, what to expect, you get the idea. They are a lot of fun to hunt and good eating as well. The ones I have got were add ons to the deer/elk hunts in Montana. There are a couple outfitters that post hunts in the outfitter section

Call these guys in Wyoming Extream Outfitters USA it's a father and son outfit and will put you on quality antelope. My wife killed an 86 5/8" goat and mine was 80". First class outfit.

You need some PP for Wyoming except in NE part of the state. Good hunts to be had on 0 PP areas but they will be on private probably, sounds like that is what you want anyway.
NE NM has big bucks if drought hasn't affected them. Colorado has some decent ones also but Wyoming is where the most pronghorn hang out.
A guided hunt in Wyoming will get you up here during a beautiful time, early fall.After the hunt you could see some sights along your way home.

Wytex that is true one needs PP to draw a decent area in Wyoming but he has to start somewere. We had 4 points to draw where we did.the whole month of October is perfect weather for antelope hunting in Wyoming. Spot and stalk is the only way to hunt em, which I really enjoy.

NM just changed up the entire pronghorn market. You will see a lot more Landowner tags now which will lower the price some.

Do you have more details, or a link? I'm really interested in a DIY NM pronghorn!

Just got back from hunting NM last night, my heads still fuzzy, I need to re-read everything but way I understand it as they did away with the public draw tag on private now. So it’s now draw tag for public and/or w/ Landowner permission, OR Landowner tag

They also added a early Aug Archery season, starts before bear.

I THINK they also went to unit specific and not regional(group of units), and LO tags Numbers are OTC no limit.

Really appreciate the insight. I'm definitely a DIY kinda guy and what I've researched so far Wyoming is number one for herd density and public access. So I believe I'm going to start buying PP to start the ball this year. Gonna add my son and dad so maybe in the next 5 years we can all cash in one awesome hunt together. Which brings me to this year might be in the market to purchase a LO tag in Texas or NM. Still researching but certainly stoked about trying a new species.

Call a Wyoming game warden (out of season of course) and talk with them. Most will give you numbers to ranchers that charge a modest trespass fee to hunt ($100 to $500, expect $300). It is a very cool hunt. Make sure to bring a good binoc and spotting scope. Car window mount for spotting scope is nice. Your biggest problem will be choosing the goat you want to shoot. It really is that easy about 8 years out of 10. You will learn new spots each time you go and eventually will figure out the public land spots and not have to pay the trespass fee. GW are also good for info on fishing spots too. Also allow an extra day or so to hit up the local coffee shops to talk with the locals. That will probably land you a free private spot as well. Most ranchers hate the goats and prairie dogs. Hint, bring the 17 hmr or wsm...or .223 (or your favorite round). Ranchers really hate the Prairie dogs and will give you access.

Jeremy guided me in the Texas panhandle. It was fun & reasonable. He put in a lot of effort to put us on the Pronghorns.

There are definitely hunts in Texas that you can pay for, expect $1800 to $3000. The same to a bit pricier depending on the area for a private/outfitted tag in NM.

You can draw tags second choice in Wyoming and still build points. Apply for something you have little to no chance of drawing with 0 points for first choice, then apply for one of the units in the NE corner that usually has leftovers as a 2nd choice. You'll get to hunt and then can buy a point for next year before October 31st. In 2018 I drew a 3rd choice tag and had a buddy pick up a tag in the second draw for one of those units north of Casper. We didn't kill anything like Angus, but we both came home with >70" goats. It was a unit that had "difficult" access, I found there was more than enough land to hunt, but you had to be willing to walk in to get to most of it, then ended up killing my buck about 300 yards from the truck.

The changes in NM are going to make drawing a tag as a non-resident a bit harder I think. I'm still going to apply because I like hunting and eating them (went 2 out of 3 on Pronghorn tags in 2018).

You can buy your first PP in July in Wyoming, or apply for a great tag this coming May and maybe draw it or get your PP.
I would get enough PP to hunt a good area with access, 1 -2 PP can get a hunt in an area with difficult access and you'll do fine. Better areas are much easier to hunt and more bucks to look over.
Fishing and bird hunting go along with antelope hunting most of the fall.
Applying for great areas as first choice then areas you may draw on second or third choice gets you a PP and a tag to hunt as stated above.

Remember you can get reduced price doe tags for a song, up to 2 in initial drawing then 2 more in leftover drawing. They can be in any area and are a random draw.

NM has great pronghorn hunting, sounds like the draw is a pain now though.

Texas gives the pronghorn permits to landowners then they sell them. Call a landowner in the panhandle and see if they will sell you one.

Tim barraclough with Kiowa hunting they have a ranch in central NM with some giants you can easily get a 85" maybe 90" in 1 or 2 days, we saw hundreds of them. Price is good as well.

$3,000+ is a lot for an antelope hunt even if you have the off chance at a book buck.
