Need help with hand made western quick draw gun belt please - 05/09/18 05:25 PM

It has been a long time since I did much leather work, and like a dummy I let my holster book and patterns get away.

I want to make my son a couple of these for Christmas but I can not find instructions on line. I know that the belt has a curve cut on the top, I do not know how much or how long, I also do not know how to measure for the length of the belt since it hangs at an angle.

If any of our accomplished leather smiths here could possibly point me in the right direction I would appreciate it very much.

I have found plenty of information on the holster it's self I am just looking for the belt.

slinger fast-draw since 70's owned several over the years. bang all store bought.
2cents take with grain of salt.
Measere belt to belt hole, using 5 hole measre ta 4th from end of belt. Giving room for weight gain, in my case 27" waist ta last one bought 36". Drop in belt is figured in waist size. Its cut in. Not best at explaining, got D- in grammer.

One rig were hole cut for were holster drop threw, it tore, my neglect of leather.
Best wishes.

Tandy's was the first place I looked. I looked on the online catalog and they do not have 1/4 of what they use to. Not long ago they still had the quick draw kits. but they do not show them now.

Some one is listing the All Stolman holster book I use to have I am going to try to get. I will be in Amarillo next week If I get the time I will run to Tandy's.
