Hunting ? For land never hunted on

Ok looking for pointers . I'll be hunting a property in Oklahoma family owned . Thing is this property has never been hunted nor any the joining properties. I put a small feeder out which ran out of corn few weeks ago lots of nice bucks lots turkey and hogs daily. I'm thinking of using a pop up blind and bow hunting . Would you set up near the feeder area back behind and maybe use scents and rattle grunt . Or what . It's extremely thick woods and have to walk long ways to get to the area

Place your blind downwind of the feeder. Probably southeast of the feeder if possible. use scents if you would like but it's probably not necessary. Good luck

I would set up over the feeder with the wind in the right direction. I've never noticed any improvement when using attractant scents, but I'm sure they've worked for other folks. Calling can work, but if I were you I'd just be patient and see what comes to you the first several times I hunted the area. If you aren't getting the results you want then I would start thinking about scents, calls, etc. Good luck and let us know how it goes.

Thanks . I'll be hunting all day Wednesday and only Thursday morning . I'll see how it plays out and hit it harder next year for sure . I know I put a camera out in the area I'll be hunting from last January to this September . No feed and daily was hogs and turkey and then this summer loads of nice does and nice bucks.8000 pics in a 8 month period

Scents never work for me. A hot doe urinating straight out in front of the blind is the best thing that ever worked. Had 5 bucks walk up to it and put their nose right in it and pose for me. They ignored the bottled urine. If you don't see any bucks, then try rattling, it'll usually get the attention of a buck looking to steal a hot doe.

Check for the trails being used to come and go to the feeder.

Set your pop up off the trail where you have a cross wind from left to right or right to left, or wind blowing in your face.

Hand corn the trail where you want them to stop for the shot.

For land never hunted on I recommend hand throwing corn first before a feeder. With my experience on new land big bucks don't get used to feeders as well as others.

Don't change much in the area with scents and fancy tactics, just hunt.. I'd hand corn before the hunt. Hunt good wind around the feeder and over good trails.

I have a buddy that hangs a bucket feeder from the tallest limb he can get a rope over and then hoists it up high. The deer never notice the feeder unless they are there when it goes off. If the spot turns out to be productive, he replaces the bucket feeder with a ground feeder.

our experience with pop-up blinds is it takes the deer awhile to get used to it. You need to really brush it in, and if you have some cedars close by, use them.

One of the easiest hunts I was on was a place that hadn't been hunted on in 15yrs. No feeder, no blind no corn. I scouted a week before and found a good trail and set up on it. I stayed low to the ground and the deer were curious and would just walk toward me to see what I was.
