I was thinking about giving a hunt or two away an not sure how I wanted to do it yet. So I was wanting more ideal. I was thinking something for kids or vets. Any ideal would help thanks
Either one would be great. The more new hunters we can get involved with help hunting for the future. Both groups are rewarding hunts. I have participated in both and highly recommend doing what ever you can to help our future.
If you're into bowhunting, you might consider getting involved with the LSBA. They do an annual youth hunt and used to do two. It would be great if they could fill that hole and go back to doing 2 a year. They have also given away hunts to veterans as well. If you decide you'd like more info, PM me and I'll get you to the right person.

I do Vet hunts every year and with the exception of maybe two they've all come from right here on the forum.
A vet hunt or the Texas Youth Hunting program would be great. I'm a disabled vet and would love to go on a hunt but I believe that our youth are the future of this great sport. Too many of them don't have the chance to be involved. Please do something for our youth. If you get into the TYHP they do everything. All you have to do is provide the place. http://www.tyhp.org/
Used to be a fellow on here that does the same thing for vets. He lived around Matador. I think he was the mayor of Matador at one time. Someone will chime in with his name. You should contact him if you go the vet route. Great service you are trying to provide.
Wounded Warrior & Make a Wish couple good organizations... A lot would depend what ya set up for...
They are good at marketing, nothing much else. Make a Wish will not do hunts. Wounded Warrior spends more money on Exec Salaries and celebrity TV endorsements than they do helping Vets.
When I have the tags to do it, I always bring out kids if possible. Investing in the future of our sport
to you! Youth - contact local 4H or FFA groups near you (or county extension office) - will also help feed their family. I'm a rifle coach for 4H in Cooke county - plenty of families all over state that would make the most of the opportunity!

He was the mayor of Paducah. Father of Four was his screen name. His program was Hunting with Soldiers. Haven't heard anything of him in a while.
TYHP is a good one. You might also check with a Friends of NRA event in your area. Funds go to shooting sports and firearm education, law enforcement and more right here in Texas.
Also, look into something associated witb kids with cancer. a good friend of mine has a granddaughter recovering from cancer and i cant even begin to tell you how thrilled she is to hunt for the first time.Shes gone nearly every Saturday with her grandpa to practice shooting to get ready. Also, underprivileged is a worthy cause. We have gone that route in the past and its amazing to see how the outdoors can impact an underprivileged youth. Just my 2 cents.
