Is there a way to get PM's to alert you on your phone? or to get a text when someone replies to one of your posts?

Yes, you set it up in your profile. Under "My stuff" click on "Edit Preferences", scroll down to the 4th question from the bottom to be alerted via email when you get a PM.
If you want to "Watch" a thread, you will also get an email alert when a new post is posted.
