Central Texas - 01/26/24 04:37 PM

Where would you say the boundaries of central Texas are. I live near Waco and consider that in central Texas (east central). What’s the western edge? Northern?

Ok, that area description works for me, and by your definition, I am in central Texas. I don’t want to be from East Texas.

East boundary should be I-45.

I don’t blame you. I’ve been accused of living in East Texas, before. It’s highly offensive.

I don't have enough hog dogs, meth and poaching convictions to be in East Texas.

That map is hilarious. Pretty sure I’m in the questionable zone.

You’re talking to yourself. People from North Texas don’t do that.

East Texas is anything east of I-35 and North of I-10

Perhaps geographically, but true east Texas is a whole 'nother thing. And Deep East Texas is another world. Not as many Texans have really experienced it as much as folks think - some incredibly good people...and some Deliverance types.

To be in "East Texas", you have to be east of the Trinity River.

Re: Central Texas - 01/29/24 10:34 PM

I'll stick with anything East of 35, North of 10. Mostly as a joke. I prefer the rough country, be it cactus and brush of South Texas, rocks, canyons, and brush of Central Texas or the wide open spaces of West Texas or the Panhandle. There's just something about all those trees, swamps, skeeters, and humidity I can't tolerate. I feel closed in. I had enough of that crap at Ft. Polk.
