Can I get a little positive thought for me on Tuesday.

I have a HUGE presentation at Cezars Palace in front of 150 plus people in the main ballroom. I am needing a little positive reinforcement.I am presenting on something that I am not 100% versed. I am a Sales guy and know the complete sales process, but this is a little out of my comfort zone.

Flying out tomorrow.

What Angus said. Practice till you can do it without notes. I used to practice giving the talk to my wife, and again, and again. Eventually I’d reduce it to a sequence of trigger words or sentences on 3x5 cards - in case I lost my place. You get some semi nekkid chick come walking through the place and you might get a bit fuzzed up mentally - hence the reminder cards.

And I always had a second set of those reminder cards in a pocket…just in case.

These posts are great....seriously gonna think of some of these while presenting.

I used to pick somebody out that I knew and was in the audience, and I’d start by eye contact and talking to them. Once I was rolling I was good.

I’ve been there. Several years back I had to fly out to Cali and give a presentation in 6 different cities. They only gave me 3 days notice and I was sweating it big time. I typed my presentation all out, and then recorded myself saying everything perfect. Then I put the headphones on and put that thing on repeat. I’d listen several times before bed, then when I woke up, then on the plane ride out there. Speak slowly, try not to get off track, and answer any questions at the end.

Little humor first then present what you have had in your thoughts he past day or two. All will be good.

If you're a salesman, then sell yourself, just make sure your fly is up when you hit the stage, or down if you want to break the ice!

I would say like the 3x5 cards, Even if I know what I want to say, I would have a simple outline of each talking point listed in order on the podium or in my pocket. Then if I get a brain freeze or stray with a story, I can get back on track without thinking to hard. Even though you say your not 100 versed. The audience don't know that. Talk like you own it even if you get lost and find yourself having to bs your way to the next talking point. They won't know. Go early and mingle as people show so you feel less like talking to strangers. Throw in a related funny story or experience early on that is sure to make them laugh which is really to calm your nerves more than for them. I'm not a public speaker and avoid it. If I am it is usually going to be at a funeral, retirement, or some other personal event. Which makes it even that more terrifying not to screw up, so I don't know if those little suggestions help or not, but it has me.

Make sure you know your stuff. Practice. Channel your anxiety and stage fright into energy and enthusiasm.

Your audience is in Vegas so make it short and sweet. Lots of other stuff to do. Smoke some green stuff just make sure no fentanyl is in it .

Lead off with a picture of your truck, tell them about your leather apron and your lawnmower and it’s a win

I started presentations with a joke, or light humor and then I started off by telling everyone that my wife said that I couldn’t tell a joke. Then that started being my opening and the more that I embellished that, the funnier it got, and that is what I stuck with from then on.

Try not to think about the Bill's game and you should be fine.

Let your eyes move from one person to the next. When you're fixed on one person, pretend you are only talking to that one. Then in a few seconds move to someone else.

I’ve taught job interview skills. Sometimes they turn into a group session. Whatever you are told, DO NOT imagine everyone sitting there in their underwear.

Just imagine that if you don’t knock it out of the park your life as you know it is over. The fear of failure will help you not to fail.

Also expect to have a dream where your alarm doesn’t go off, you can’t find the conference room, or something of that sort. Dreams of failure actually help with success.

My wife is a pro at presenting. She does it in front of hundreds if not thousands, and always brings down the house. Hell, even my boss came to me and complement her on her stage presence. She uses humor a lot, and it really helps hold the audience. She just has IT.....

I spent 20 years in computer technical sales support (Sales Engineer) , and yes, this stuff is important.

Well he was looking for a job when he found that one.

The way I look at it is there are 3 possible options based on him not updating the post.

1) He put so much stress and anxiety on himself that he had a heart attack before the presentation.

2) He did so well they are currently filling him full of booze and blow.

3) He did so terrible they put him on the first flight home with his tail between his legs.
