Asp Sting

Mowing the yard and my neck started burning. Kept mowing, figured it was a wasp sting. Finally couldn't take it anymore and found an asp in my shirt. Took a shower and put some bebadryl cream on. Stings like nothing I've ever felt.

They are brutal

He was rolling around in my shirt for about 30 minutes before I'd had enough. Feels like I got branded.

Adolph's meat tenderizer make a paste with vinegar supposed to kill the sting almost immediately

Sorry to hear it...those things are awful. Wife and I were RV-ing with another couple years ago when the other guy's wife got hit on the leg by one. She ended up passing out & we had to rush her to the hospital. They gave her fluids, steroids, & anti-allergy meds to get her over it.

I had one drop down onto a chair I was sitting in and when I leaned back in the chair, it nailed me in the base of my skull. Hurt like a mother.

Got tagged when I was a kid. They do sting. Haven't seen one in a long time. They used to recommend a baking soda paste.

I was always told to ice it. 10 minutes on 10 minutes off for an hour.

One got ahold of me years ago. Thought I was going to die

Those things are terrible. The only thing that comes close in my experience is a Velvet Ant, but the asp has it edged out by a little.

Burn is gone but muscle pain persists. I guess I'll live.

Burns like a mother and then a blister. About like a jelly fish. Tobacco spit will give some relief.

Had one in the arm of an outdoor chair and rested my forearm on it. I got dizzy and thought I was going to faint, that thing sucked.

Best relief is to pee on it.

I guess that was what popped me on the neck when I was mowing under some low hanging limbs. Hurt really bad. Swelled up as a ridge about the size of a finger. It was a hairy looking caterpillar. Hard to forget that sting.

If you start to have any breathing issues get to an ER.

When we were kids, my brother had one fall on his back out of a tree. And we were always shirtless. The way he was screaming you’d have thought he was on fire.

x2- got one on my inner arm once as a kid - I too was screaming like it was on fire, because that's what it felt like - fire without stopping!
Way worse than bee/jellowjacket sting.
I would burn those bastards with FIRE everytime I found one after that...

Ouch never been hit by an asp. I did by the green caterpillar hough with poison filled spikes. Worst pain I have ever felt for 30 minutes. Missed church that day.

Was told a pee bath is the best to ensure all of the bite is covered.

does the pee need to be all from the same source, or can it
be mixed of different origins ?

I got hit by one earlier this year. It stung me on the inside of my arm, and I guess I mashed it against my side also. I had a corresponding rash on my side that matched where my arm would lay against it. Do Not put Desitine cream on it, Gasoline would be better.
