Turkeys already selling fast - 11/08/22 04:23 PM

Got a report from a family member that turkeys are moving fast at all the grocery stores. Guess I should go ahead and order a honey baked ham.

It also takes a few weeks to defrost those behemoth sized turkeys properly anyway.

Walmart in Sweetwater had probably 50 giant Turkeys yesterday on clearance for $.98 per pound. Still didn’t buy one of those nasty things.

I got a free one with my spiral ham at HEB yesterday. I gave it away because we don`t eat it.

Pass…turkey is the bologna of the bird world. More for you “traditionalist”.

Didn't see any turkeys in Sams today, lots of hams, but no turkeys.

I really dislike ham.

I would eat the honey baked, but still pass over Turkey.

I'm going with Chinese Buffet tis year. Have not so great memories of Thanksgiving so it's just a meal, and they have New York style cheese cake on the buffet!

You can make some really good tamales with turkey, if you know how.

Or find someone to make them for you.

My local HEB was fully loaded down with turkey's and shopping in the evening usually items are running low. Well not the larger yard birds, plenty of them.

The order I have is to make a brisket. So turkey is no worry and the brisket is in the freezer food

I save the prime rib for Christmas. Ordered brisket, ribs, and sausage from Snow's for Thanksgiving. I hate manning a pit all day with family all around.
