Mine is usually 30-06 but would like to try that 6mm

Deer hunting - 30-30. Fun to shoot - 223 or .17 HMR.

Have always shot the 30-06, considering trying out the 6.5creedmoor I bought 3 years ago. Mounted a scope on it and it has sat in the safe ever since.

I guess it is a good day to be a 308 guy.

Should have embedded it instead of attaching it. I figure instead of having a go to, I would dabble a little with .223, .308, 30-06, 300BO and a 6mm. Hell, I might even give the 7.62 x 54r a try. You never know, might perform better than it looks on paper!

30-06 was always my go to for deer but now I lean more to the .308.

I can handle the recoil… give me the 30-06

.308 is a close second, built for comfort.

I always take 2 guns when I head out of town on a hunt out of state.

The 308 would be my first choice, but if I knocked the scope off or the barrel got to hot I`d probably switch over to the 30-06. I need a big bore rifle for my high velocity penetrating round.

If I'm going on the picture alone that the OP provided (which 90% of you either didn't see or understand) it's going to be 300 BO.

That 300 bo is the truck gun model. 30-06 is for the deer blind. 308 is for the camp house window,
