Ford Dealership Service Department Recommendations?

Ford Dealership Service Department Recommendations? - 09/19/22 03:05 PM

Anyone have a Ford dealership they would recommend for service? Normally avoid the dealerships for service, but have a recall/reprogram I need to get in for. I am in west DFW.

Thanks

The best I can say is good luck. The service department is currently the only income for most dealers. Before this situation they 100% guaranteed crooked. I can’t imagine how bad it is now.

Biggest think is call and get a realistic turn around time.

I don't even trust my dealer to change the oil in my vehicle.

Ford/Lincoln service is abysmal. Ask me how I know and I'll give you several examples that could be used as case studies on how NOT to engage a customer

Another reason I mark my wheels before I have them rotate the tires...caught them once saying they did it but I had the proof they didn't. Glad my service contract is over now.

I'll tell you one to avoid- Planet Ford Dallas. My wife is literally on the phone right now with the most incompetent service advisor we've ever dealt with (his name is Robert). Finished only half of the job, didn't collect the other party's insurance, scheduled the rental car for only half of the days (Enterprise expected it back a week early), can't remember ANYTHING he said (luckily my wife has all of the conversations documented), and never returns calls when he says he will. Not too mention, he's just flat out unpleasant to deal with because he's such an idiot.

He was also was supposed to schedule recall work on the cam phasers immediately after the body shop work was done and just flat out didn't do it. So we get to get back in the queue again and wait another month to bring it back for that.

Avoid Southwest Ford in Weatherford. All they care about is screwing you over. I have one there now and he is now telling me the$3600 fix that they said will work might not work. Every time I've taken it there I've had to bring it right back and make me pay to fix something else.

Stay away from Toyota of grapevine to while we are at it they ended up paying back my parents a lot of $$ after racking up toll fees and fake repairs got exposed.

I agree. I am out that way and have not had a good experience there.

I bought a 2021 Ford Transit, my dealer threw in 5 free oil change and they come to my place to change it, great deal.

I bought a new vehice from Five Star in Plano, only thing has been done is oil changes, which I got a few thrown in from the salesman, so far I have been impressed and they will even come to my place or business and do the oil changes, which is pretty cool.

I had a dealership do my free oil changes during which they also rotated my tires. One morning I get in my truck and the TPMS light is on. I grab my gauge and all my tires are under inflated by 16 PSI. I have OEM BFG KO2s and supplemental door sticker states 46 PSI. I was not happy that I had to get the compressor out and air up all 4. Just one of many problems after the free oil changes. The other day they called and wanted me to bring it in for a recall. I checked my VIN on the Toyota website and no active recalls.

My wife takes her CRV to Honda Dealership, they seem pretty good the one in McKinney. Only have about 20K miles so only thing we have done is oil change when the indicator says it time. Had them put on new michelin tires last year.

I will just use them in the near future due to I like to use Honda parts and not some after market, Honda tend to need original parts.

I knew it. They just called. Add $1500 to the repair bill.

North Central Ford in Richardson told me I need an entire heating/cooling system because the system no longer switches blowing from the floor to dash to windshield regardless of using heat or A/C. No matter the setting air only blows from the dash. There is no issue with the air being hot or cold as desired or fan speed. The cost? $4500. I exited the conversation so fast I didn't even learn if that was the parts cost only or out-the-door.

My Ford was doing the exact same thing turned out to be the blend door actuator. I think the part was 35.00 and about 30 min to swap it out.
