Hummingbirds swarming - 09/05/22 06:05 PM
Have two feeders out side front windows of house. All summer long, 5,6-8 regulars. Saturday am, they started swarming, drained six cups of feed. Had to refill this am, and already pulling them down. Will be four on each feeder, 4-6 buzzing near by waiting for there chance to feed. Have never seen this many after feeding for years. Some neighbors are seeing the same. Any one else seeing the same?

All but 1 dissapeared from me in Kingston. They moved to you..
Probably 300 geese were heading south this morning.

I've got 5 or 6 hitting my feeder this past week. That's a few more than normal. I guess they are on the move. Fueling up for migration.

Swarming like I’ve never seen. So late in year this year too. Weird. Started Friday Franklin County.

Actually, only one male has shown up, and that was this am. The rest have all been female……… most of the time during the summer, it was about half and half as expected.

We had a swarm of them all of a sudden, and a couple days later, no hummingbirds at all. Not one today.

Funny. I hunted yesterday a.m. and came in and filled the 1 cup feeder I've had about 3 max on all summer. Got home from work today and over twice that many were knocking on the windows to refill the feeder. Just happened here today.

Still lots here, have had to refill both feeders everyday. Not the numbers we had a week ago, but still a bunch. Not sure on migration, but May have to cut them off soon. Any advice on migration patterns and time will be helpful if available.
