They said we'd have more hurricanes. First time in 25 years that there wasn't a named hurricane in August. "The science is settled" my azz.

Only happened twice since 1960. Of course, it's also the result of climate change... Too many storms? Climate change. No storms? Climate change. rolleyes

We do have a nice typhoon on the way, though. whistle

In the 70s they were afraid of global cooling.....

BTW global warming is 1000 times better then global cooling.

They will do like they did with running propane in your vehicle. You bought a sticker for your windshield. The cost depended on how many miles you drove in a year. Don't worry, electric vehicles are going to be taxed one way or another. Then listen to the pissing and moaning.

Climate change is real

The climate is warming

There is no climate crisis if you look at the data.

The warming climate is not caused by anthropogenic (man made) CO2

The climate has been much more warm in the past

They are finding evidence of trees and vegetation under glaciers as they melt.

This is my take on it as well.....I won't argue the climate is changing, as its always changing. Man has little to do with its influence, if any at all.

No in the 70s they pushed this in school and in the lil paper weekly reader so it was a lot of places across the country

And then it was the ozone hole which even some govt offices admitted had been there before man and get bigger and smaller as needed

Basically it will always be one thing or another because if there is a crisis we can print money and raise taxes

You forgot the old growth forests were being destroyed, so we had to give up using paper bags and use plastic instead. (Remember Sheryl Crow saying we should all use, what was it, two squares of toilet paper max per bowel movement? She must be an extremely clean pooper.) Then an Australian study about how bad plastic fishing nets are in the ocean got the rumor game treatment and by the time it got to America, it was the plastic shopping bags that were awful and we should all virtue signal with our own bags. Then our own bags were carrying Covid, even though, it was quietly announced recently that Covid doesn't transmit on surfaces.

IF any humans are having an impact on the climate, the most damage is from India and China. We're either too arrogant, or too stupid, or probably both, to think we can tell the rest of the world how they're gonna do things. 'Kinda like the dumbazz "Coexist" bumper stickers. bang The kids running things and propping up the potato have no perspective whatsoever beyond what they were indoctrinated with in Academia, much less outside the United States.

Weather has been changing since earth's creation.....we all have more crap to worry about than weather. Climate change garbage is 100% political....follow the money. They are trying to take it out of pockets that don't owe favors, and putting it in those that do.

Re: Climate crisis! - 09/04/22 02:34 PM

If i had a like button, i would like Colt’s post on this thread. Well done man!

As has been said many times on this thread and before, the climate changes always has and always will. Its pretty arrogant to think we humans are the cause. Its also pretty ignorant to think the earth can not correct itself without human help.

As an aside, i always laugh when the weather folks can not wven get the forecast right two days on advance. There are still plenty of things at play in the day to day weather the “science” has no idea about, so why should we trust them for global and decade to century long forecasts? They say they see the evidence in the environment. But isnt that like looking at the past to predict the future? Any rational person can figure out the past has very little to do with any future predictions….

Re: Climate crisis! - 09/04/22 04:09 PM

If they would take 1/2 the money they spend on curbing CO2 emissions and put it towards actual pollution clean up it would make a huge impact.

CO2 is not a pollutant and an increase in a single trace gas in the atmosphere is not going cause a climate crisis.

Same as the so call “climate crisis” causing the flooding in Pakistan. Well it’s been flooding in Pakistan for the last 100 years. There were floods in the 50s and 70s there that covered 70,000-80,000 square kilometers.

The population of Pakistan has gone from 40 million to 250 million in that time.
