Show these young bucks some good stuff. Bob Wills though is still the King. Carter scratch just does something positive for your soul.

Vintage is just another term for rustic or old.

This song is probably the 1st country song I can remember, way back in the early 60`s when I was just a pup. I`m not a fan of the old country, but I do like listening to Hank sing it.

Back in the 90's I heard Waylon give an interview on the radio, KSCS maybe. Anyway he talked about that song and said he never liked Bob Wills, said the only reason he wrote it was because he was pissed off at Willie. That would make sense "It don't matter who's in Austin..."

That being said I like Bob WIlls music a lot, and Willie, and Waylon.

Re: Top this for vintage country music - 04/05/22 02:44 PM

You youngins probibly don't know about this cowpoke.
He was playin music while ure daddy was learnin to walk.

But if you like git-tar music he was one of the best.

So crank the volume, lean back and close your eyes and let Smily Bates massage your soul.

Or we could go a bit further back and listen to the King of the Twalve String gittar. Simply called Leadbelly.

If you'd rather listen to a more familiar name in music you could try this one.

I'll admit I didn't know about James Hand until last year when Charlie Crockett released an album dedicated to him. All I know is two things... this is honky tonk gold and there has to be hundreds if not thousands of talented singers and song writers out there you've never heard of cuz of one reason or another they never hit it big time.
