What is the Best Bourbon..

for around $50.00 in the large bottle

Was looking at Buffalo Trace or Makers Mark, all recommendations are appreciated

Hard to go wrong with either of those. Elijah Craig is solid, too, but may be closer to $60.

Did a favor for a friend of my wife, this woman is dead set on buying me a nice bottle of Bourbon even though I told her no need to do that.
She has plenty of $$ but I do not want to take advantage of her so I set the $50.00 spending limit.

Jeffers Creek, very light & smooth. Excellent for sipping neat. If you can find it, about $50 for a 1.75 li at Twin Liquors.

Eagle Rare is my current favorite. 4 Roses is good too. Got a bottle of Buffalo Trace last week for $25. I haven't tried it yet. I hear Bird Dog is really good and only like $20

In the large bottles, for that price, I'd look for Weller Special Reserve or Larceny. Larceny probably easier to find.

I picked up a bottle of Makers Mark Cask Strength and I don't know if it was just the cigar but for 110 proof it went down easy. I liked it a lot...

Love Four Roses, but don't forget Willet too. Of course I haven't seen what American prices have gotten to for a while either.

They changed the name from Ben Milam to Milam and Greene but the Straight Bourbon is my favorite.

Weller 12 is about the best to me. Eagle Rare was also Very good . I had two bottles of Blanton's but sold them without ever taking a sip.

Jim Beam Black is a go to, easy on the pocketbook too

On the Bourbon topic…. last weekend I was introduced to Bourbon Cream, think Bourbon-flavored Bailey’s. It was great after dinner on rocks.

This is probably my favorite, I've had it several times over the years at bars and restaurants, but this is the only bottle I've actually been able to get my hands on.

Picked up a half gallon of Weller the other day. Forty dollars and change. It's a good smooth pour.

If I understand correctly the Weller Antique is only 750ml size.

Evan Williams is a very under-rated pour.

Well I did not get my request in on time so the wife told her to get my usual Evan Williams 1783 Small Batch. Tried Woodford reserve at a neighbors and enjoyed so i got a small bottle..
