I love me some links golf, they're playing at Royal St. Georges after taking last year off.
I'm going with Spieth and I'm pretty sure Davis300 agrees this is a solid pick. My dark horse is Matthew Fitzpatrick.

Thanks for posting Payne. I will tune in for sure. Don't know enough to bet but I always pull for Spieth but maybe one of the other young guys, Harris maybe, Rahm will fold as will Kopecka and Dechambuea (however you spell his name
Rory is always good on the links courses.
)

I think experience trumps youth in this tournament. I’m going with Phil!

Re: The Open Championship - 07/14/21 01:58 PM
Bryson is a dweeb and insufferable sometimes, but I am interested to see how he attacks this course. He already mentioned his length and that Tiger hit irons off every tee for one of his wins at The Open.
Rahm has been playing really good golf, tough to count him out. I’d like to see Spieth win another major.

You took Rahm, so it was a fair bet. There's been no one player against the field since the 90's. I'll see you post again after the tourney is over as per usual.

He held that through 18 and is one back of Oosthuizen. Oosty has not finished lower than second in "The Open" after leading the first day.

Well Bryson DeChambeau certainly showed his maturity today and stepped on his crank bad mouthing his sponsor. Cobra should drop him ASAP.

Re: The Open Championship - 07/15/21 08:58 PM
Just hand Bryson a 1 iron and tell him that is his new driver and when he can work the ball with it every day then he might get a driver. Spoiled kids need toys taken away at times.
Remember the 2006 British Open when Tiger Woods used Driver on only one hole, point was to stay out of trouble and he did for the most part that way. Bryson seems to expect to be able to hit a long way and then recover through strength in the rough or where ever, hard to do in tall fescue on uneven sand of the open courses.

I bet they do NOT renew their contract with him and it will probably cost him future sponsorship.

Re: The Open Championship - 07/17/21 02:44 PM
DeChambeau’s unyielding pursuit of perfection in an inherently imperfect game is a daunting standard to live by, and a thoroughly impossible one to expect others to live by too. He’s accustomed to calculating precisely the journey his ball will take toward its target, but at the Open every ball takes two journeys: one through the air and another that begins when it hits the ground and caroms along ancient contours. It is not a style of golf suited to precision, or to emotion (unless, like Seve Ballesteros, it is channeled successfully). Royal St. George’s was always destined to be a demanding week for DeChambeau, but it didn’t need to be a disastrous one.
pretty good article
