Best bad influence?

Best bad influence? - 04/14/21 03:42 AM

Was talking with a cousin today and passed on to him that his dad (my uncle) was the best bad influence I every had. Bought me and my brother our first barroom beers at ages 14 and 13 and cut us loose on the pool table and shuffle board with a pocket of quarters each. His term for this activity was “fishing” because we had a trotline soaking at a local pond. And as far as my aunt and mom were concerned we was fishing. Truly miss those fishing trips with Uncle Bernard.

You guys have someone similar? I’m hoping to be a bad influence on my grandkids someday. up

Not really. All of my bad influencers were committed to the craft of bad influencing.

Yes, my sister's first husband..............
He worked for General Dynamics...... He was 1/2 cherokee.....and the other half, crazy...........
When he would get laid off from G.D. he would make his money playing pool
in the bars on Jacksboro Hwy.. circa(1965)..... The man took me into those places
and had me drive his pick-up, when he would get too drunk to drive..........
But dang, he could play some pool..... He taught me very well.....
I learned to drive in North Dakota, on icy snow covered roads........
And the back roads, around Lake Worth, from J.B. Hwy, to White
Settlement.............

My father was in and out of jail or prison my entire life. When he was out, he wasn't exactly a posative influence. We had some great times together.

The G.M. of our company. He's still kickin' and is like another older brother to me, although I rarely see him anymore. Both a bad and good influence. Former Air Force T38 training pilot. Fighter pilots seem to have great confidence in their ability to party, with zero regrets...ever.

In college, there were lots of them, being as I was a music major at North Texas. muyloco

Been there. Some of the best days of my misspent youth were spent hustling games at a pool hall.

My best friend.

A good friend will bail you out of jail. A best friend will be in jail with you.
