Broken firearm disposal

Broken firearm disposal - 02/25/21 03:38 AM

Of all the years I've owned firearms I've never had to dispose of an inoperable one. I have a crap, cheap old pistol that isn't worth fixing and I want to get rid of it. Anyone know how to do that?

Police station get a receipt or melt it or chop it up with a saw.

Get creative.

Epoxy it into a board and use it for your next cabin build or camp table build. If it's a revolver, use the cylinder as a pencil holder. Hammer it into a tree and let the tree grow around it ..........................................

Hang onto it. Give it to the NATO troops when they want your guns.

Throw it away.

Thought about the police station route but, there's just something wrong about giving a gun away to the law that goes against my core. LOL! It's like I would be handing away my 2A rights in that moment. The melt route would be cool but, I don't have equipment for that.

Hmmm....hadn't thought about the creative route. I like it. Thanks.

LMAO!! Exactly! Due to the tragic boating accident, this is all I have left....

I don't want to go this route because it is repairable and could be turned into a working firearm again with a little tinkering.

This isn’t complicated, but you go ahead and make it just that.

There are places who buy guns for the parts.
Numrich is one.

It's a craaaaap pistol, Jennings Bryco 9mm. Not worth scrap metal IMO.

Hang on to it and turn it in for $100 at the next Democrat buy-back initiative.

Numrich https://www.gunpartscorp.com/sell-your-parts buys old guns and non working guns for parts that they later sell. Might help another shooter out getting thir old gun operational.

My dad had an old Mossburg bolt action 20 ga with a broken stock, he just threw it in the stock tank.

Re: Broken firearm disposal - 02/25/21 05:35 PM

I have a total POS pistol that I bought new for $75 in 1993. If I can ever make $150 at one of those on the street corner gun 'buybacks' I might take it there, then buy a nice working gun from the next guy in line.
