Seems redundant to wish his sole God's Speed.

Prayers and Condolences to his family and friends.

Great quote and I agree. Would not do him any good. Hell of an aviator and patriot.

He and my grandfather grew up together in West Virginia and I believe were cousins. Here's a pic of both of them home on leave in Huntington, WV taken in 1946. My grandfather, a real Hatfield, is on the left and was stationed on the USS Midway in the Atlantic Fleet after WWII. salute

Yeager also became an ace in a day flying in Europe. In addition, he was one of the few to shoot down an ME-262.

General Yeager was my wing commander at Seymour Johnson AFB, Goldsboro N.C. in 67-68.. He took 3 fighter squadrons to S. Korea when N. Korea captured the Pueblo. He wanted to make them pay but they would not let him.

Excellent pilot and a lifelong hunter. His favorite rifle was the Weatherby Mark V in .300 Weatherby Magnum.

He tweeted last year that the first time he ever saw a German JET fighter in WW2, he shot it down.

General Yeagar and Bob Hoover were the best stick and rudder men the world has ever known. The aviation world, and the good Earth, is just a bit less today.
