We've had Germania for 40 years or more. They're no better or no worse than the rest of them. Your insurance agent is not your friend.

We've been with Germania for a couple decades, no hassles on the claims we've made and haven't found anyone at a significantly lower rate for the same coverage.

My agent isn't my friend, she's my cousin. laugh

You should make your agent your friend, they can really assist when needed. Some do, some don’t. They are not your enemy and if they are you need to look for a new agent. Matter of fact, wise man told me...if you’ve had the same insurance company over 3 years, then you’re overpaying.

I had Germania years ago and never had any problems but never had any claims either.

I've had Germania home owners insurance for 17 years. During that time I've had two claims. Both were roof replacements. They have been great. Easy to work with.

I've had home and auto with them for 17 years. My agent is helpful and the one claim I had (auto) was taken care of prompt and fair.

Had a check the day they inspected my roof after the hailstorm

My experience is it is tough to find something better than Germania and yes, I represent them. Purchase from someone local and expect them to actually come out and look at your place. Just buying something over the phone or on the innerweb can produce mixed results.

I can't stress this enuff - buy local or buy from someone you have a relationship with.

Had them for house insurance for the past 3 years. Haven't had to make a claim so far with them but their customer service has been good imo such as questions and such.

We have had them now for a few years, no problems, one year they paid out $ 17,000.00 in claims for hail .

I have dealt with them in the past, and they were pretty good.

Haven't seen a homeowner with them in recent years.....

Great company. I'm switching my mom's truck from them though. They have doubled her auto premium over the last 2.5 years and that's not ok. They've been great, but $140/ month for a 2015 Frontier is nuts, especially with her credit, driving record, and having 2 homes and multiple cars for 13 years. Love them on the homes though.

I have been with them since the late 90's. That agency closed when the owner retired last year and they sold the agency to another company in town. That company never called me or asked me to come in to review my policies. So I switched this summer to a new agency with a member on here, Hudbone. He came to my place... reviewed everything on my account and made some updates to my coverages. Upped the home owners coverages to today's numbers, updated a few other coverages, dropped a couple of things off that did not need coverage anymore and increases some liability policies with suggested changes of coverage. In the end, I had more coverage and paid less per month than I had been paying. He made suggestions of what I could do, why I should or should do them and left the changes up to me. First time I have had an agent come to my house to review my policies in over 40 yrs.

up Excellent testimonial. Insurance agents are similar to real estate agents - there are a few amazing ones that will bust their hump for you, like Hud, and then there are droves and droves of complete zeros.

Had them for 22 years without any issues. Went through a roof replacement and two car wrecks with them and never had any issues. Both wrecks were not our fault and they helped cover uninsured/underinsured motorist in the vehicles that hit us.

I did recently go with another company because it saved me over $1,200 a year combined for home/auto insurance.

I get to meet a ton of very good people in this business and some can be way too kind. I was only doing what I was supposed to be doing.

I still have not figured out how you can insure a place without personally eyeballing it and this is especially true of most all rural exposures and certainly of any farm & ranch exposure.

On the new place Texas Farm Bureau had a woman come out, take pictures and double check the agent (who happens to have the personality of a dead duck; at least on the phone. I never met the man. )

I think she might have even taken a couple of cats that were abandoned by the previous owner. God bless her!

When I inherited the lake house, mom had Germania. I called and advised them that the house was mine and I needed to change the insurance to my name. When I asked about a ‘what if’ claim, they said no problem we’ll send you a check. When pressed, they admitted the check would be in mom’s name. Worthless check and they know it. The bank won’t take them anymore. Since mom’s passing, we’ve received several small checks settling closed accounts that the bank won’t deposit. Germania knew this and still tried to defraud me. I fired Germania. They said I couldn’t fire them without filling out several forms, notarizing them and mailing them in. I busted out laughing and told them to cancel my policy per my email and immediately afterwards to KMA.

Everything is under USAA now and over my 40+ years with them, they have never failed to satisfy me.

Germania did not fail you, that there agent did. Too many don't do what they are supposed to do. Maybe they don't like quiche eaters.

If I looked at it correctly, the United Services Automobile Association has one of the lowest complaint indexes on file with TDI. It's good, real good. Enviable in fact. At .23 for home insurance complaints and with the median being 1.00 that is extremely low. It would be really difficult to find one lower than that. Oh yeah, Germania Farm Mutual's is lower than that.
