I must have missed that thread

Because this nation's government no longer represents and promotes the values and principles of those in my family who fought and died to defend them, I see no reason to display or recongize its flag or other symbols. I will pay them no more respect attention as would any non-citizen would who lives here and pays taxes.

My neighborhood participates in flag program, $50 a year, they install the holder by the street curb put the flag up on holidays (new year, memorial day, 4th July, labor day...). Pretty high participation rate, kinda cool when you drive down the street with flags on both sides all the way down.

me too, boy scouts do it, or should i say boy scout parents. lets leave it at this on the scouts and parents.

What's a good brand of flag pole? Something around 25'.

Do not know the brand but mine is 20' and it has 4 sections that collapse or expand to lower and raise our flags, problem is you cannot fly a flag at half mast/staff.
If I had it to do all over I would get one with a rope pull to raise and lower your flags so you can fly half mast/staff option.

Light 'em up gentlemen, or else get off your butts and take it down every night. It's only proper. I lit mine 'cause I don't want to have to play To the Colors and Retreat every day. The neighbors would be pissed.
