I remember hearing this song when I was 18 and it was legal to get in and drink is a real "Honky Tonk'. He played with the best of them. It`s been quite a party.

I’m not familiar with him. Too bad. He had a classic country voice.

He used to play in Rowena at the ODHS (Sons of Hermann) hall, founded by Germans and the SPJST (a Czech fraternal organization) hall, every so often. Small town rodeo dances all across west Texas had him on the marquee at least one night. He also played frequently at the Boots and Saddles and the Dixie Club in San Angelo. I believe we saw him one year at the Coleman Rodeo dances, and a few time at the Pecos Rodeo dances. He also played athe Abilene Cow Palace, a BYOB warehouse in the late 60's, but it was closed in the 70's.

I listened to him on KVET in Austin and KKYX in San Antonio.

I danced to his songs sung by cover bands at the Broken Spoke, The Lumber Yard, Dance Across Texas, and the SPJST Hall in Round Rock.

Good times!

RIP

That's a little wired to me. I still identify with my young neighbors more than the older ones. That's why I don't think I will ever end up in an old folks home.

One of my favorites. I saw him at the Lumber Yard and one more place I can’t recall, he made music like it was meant to be.
