Re: Our little slice of heaven - 10/12/20 05:31 PM

That is awesome. You'll have two airports nearby to get back to Texas when needed. The cherry festival is going to be great. Our next trip up there will probably be during that time. Make sure you find your own huckleberry patches in the summer. I can't tell you how awesome that is. Whatever you can't get in Polson or Kalispell, Missoula will have. Really great area yall have picked.

Thanks erath.... We were up there this summer during the festival. I think I ate my weight in cherries and huckleberries roflmao

We really like the area, love the views and the proximity to many small towns and national parks. Plus Flathead Lake is a phenomenal Yellow Perch fishery and that is one of my top 3 freshwater fish to both catch and eat!

Flew into Kalispell a few weeks ago to finalize the deal. 6 gates, only 2 of them with jetways. My kind of airport up

Property taxes tiny...compared to here. No state income tax.

Very strict building standards so no double-wides allowed. But C'mon man, an Alabama guy and a double wide? That is so common it is a cliche. roflmao

For those that have not been up there, I think I speak for TXHS and myself when I say, you just won't understand it until you make the trip. It is truly an amazing area. No words or pictures can do it justice. While the video is truly impressive, it still does not put the entire thing into perspective until you are actually up there living it.

I know and that is a bummer. Will probably go home to Michigan and fish for Walleye. Love to fish for Perch and Pike though which are there. Also, whitefish are incredible smoked.

Actually the average annual snowfall is 33 inches. I live where it gets just over 50, a snowblower is plenty, size depends on driveway length. An excessively long driveway usually means that you contract to have it plowed.
