Isn't that just a gyro?

I'm not a huge fan of Arby's, but their traditional gyro is pretty decent for us not having Greek food around these parts.

Traditionally it's lamb. Think really big lamb loaf. Now a days I think it's a beef/lamb mix.

It's Tzatziki sauce, yogurt and a bunch of spices. So good! Will make you slap your mama.

My wife dragged me to a local Greek place in Lubbock where I tried to order a burger. The guy talked me into a giro, said if I didn't like it he'd refund my money and make me a burger. I ended up ordering another after I knocked off the first one. They use a combination of lamb and beef.

That's one of the biggest things I loved about Germany. Little Greek imbiss right outside the gate, and countless other places like it. But when you bought Greek food, you were buying it from a real Greek. Italian food came from a real Italian. Chinese food came from real Chinese. Can't beat it. food

Yep, my wife and I talked about that the other night while we were having lamb t-bones. We decided that people dislike lamb either because the quality was taco bell level. Then the other reason why some people don't like it is that it was always covered with that gross mint sauce.

Yall need to go check out the German food restaurant in Walburg. I haven't been in a while, but it's excellent. In the evenings they open up the biergarten out back for a good time.

Miss boneless leg of lamb. You can't cook it for just one. Same with prime rib roast. I made that point on another forum after returning from HEB Monday.

I do not like lamb at all, although i'll eat Gyro's all day long. So my taste buds make little sense. My wife loves lamb and gets it at every Greek place we go. I always try it to see if is good and nope I just don't like the taste of it. Even gave it another chance when we went to Athens Greece, thinking it was just the way "Americans" cooked it.... Nope still not my thing lol.

supposedly one of the best gyro shops in dfw is on east glen or main, in mesquite. just past old mesquite high. stopped once and inquired and the dude fixed me some kinda of meat plate and it was quite tasty. never went back though. kinda outta my way and not a lot of indoor dining space

Love me some traditional gyros. There is a little Greek mom and pop place here in Corpus that is fantastic. The whole family works the restaurant, from grandpa to the grandkids. The grandpa’s English isn’t so great, but that guy can cook!
