I didn’t hear that part. Heard there was some sexual harassment component. It’s only likely they had reason to search that area. Phone records most likely.

KILLEEN, Texas (KWTX) - Members of the family of a Fort Hood Pfc. Vanessa Guillen, 20, who disappeared more than two months ago say they think a suspect in an Army CID investigation who committed suicide early Wednesday is linked to the disappearance and Fort Hood is confirming the suspect was a soldier and said the estranged wife of a former Fort Hood soldier is in custody.

Guillen’s sister Mayra, during an emotional news conference Wednesday morning in Washington, D.C., said in Spanish she earlier met the man who committed suicide and said he laughed in her face when she asked about Guillen.

Fort Hood, meanwhile, confirmed the suspect who shot himself was a soldier and said Texas Rangers have arrested a civilian in connection with the disappearance.

The family’s attorney, Natalie Kwaham, said during the Washington news conference that two others were involved.

“We told command who we believed it was and why. From there the search went quicker.... Last night they issue a BOLO and that person ran off base and shot himself when they came up to him. This is the same person we have been talking about the superior who she was with that day and harassed her”

“Crime Stories with Nancy Grace,” quoting Texas Equuserach founder Tim Miller, reported Wednesday that several suspects were involved in the disappearance and that Guillen’s remains were “sealed in concrete.”

Guillen, 20, disappeared without a trace on April 22.

Partial remains were found Tuesday in the search for the missing soldier in a shallow grave along the Leon River, but officials have not confirmed the remains are hers.

Miller of Texas Equusearch, whose volunteers searched the area extensively last week, said, however, “The search is over.”

Killeen officers along with the U.S. Marshals Lone Star Fugitive Task Force and Fort Hood investigators were involved the search for the unnamed suspect, whom police found at around 1:30 a.m. Wednesday in the 4700 block of East Rancier Avenue in Killeen.

As officers approached, the man produced a weapon and shot himself to death, police spokeswoman Ofelia Miramontez said.

Further details weren’t immediately released.

I wonder if they used gps data off the suspect(s) phone provider's history to help find the location.

They positively identified the remains 30 mins ago. It's her. And seems like case closed now that her killer off'd himself.

Things don't add up in regards to the sexual harassment ,if a complaint had been made, CID should have been involved before her disappearance. If her command failed to forward the complaint there will be all kids of 'hell to pay' going forward. There are all kinds of question left to be answered.

I believe her family said she had not filed because she was afraid of retaliation.

On another note, according to a news source the dead guy was supposedly an NCO.

She would be alive today if she had reported it via the sexual harassment tip line. My daughter is a CID agent and a large part of her case load consists of various sexual harassment/assault complaints. I did meet one of the agents now a Ft Hood briefly while visiting her while she was in school.

I just saw a news flash that, she was beaten to death for threatening to report her killer for violating regulations, sexual harassment had nothing to do with it. It hasn't been posted on the sites page, but when I see it, I'll post a link.

Walking in on her in the shower certainly would fall under sexual harassment. That with the dude following her on her runs, plus calling her in on her off day to kill her.

KILLEEN, Texas (KTRK) -- A civilian suspect in the disappearance of Fort Hood Army Specialist Vanessa Guillen told investigators she was asked to help hide a body, according to police.

Cecily Aguilar, 22, has been charged with one count of conspiracy to tamper with evidence.

The Army said Aguilar is the estranged wife of a former soldier who was stationed at Fort Hood.

Aaron David Robinson, a 20-year-old Army Specialist, was identified as the person of interest in Guillen's case. She disappeared in April. Robinson died by suicide when authorities made contact with him on Wednesday, according to special agent Damon Phelps with the Army's Criminal Investigation Command.

According to investigators, Robinson told Aguilar that he killed a female soldier by striking her in the head with a hammer while on base on April 22.

Robinson allegedly admitted to Aguilar that he transferred the woman's body off the base to a remote site in Bell County.

"Subsequently, Robinson enlisted the help of Aguilar in disposing of the dead female's body," read a news release issued Department of Justice U.S. Attorney's Office - Western District of Texas.

Aguilar told investigators she "recognized the deceased whom she helped Robinson mutilate and dispose of" as Guillen.

The remains found in Bell County have yet to be formally identified by authorities.

Aguilar faces up to 20 years in prison and with a maximum $250,000 fine.

She's currently being held at the Bell County jail. Her first court appearance will be in Waco.

The hearing is expected to take place early next week.
