Tire size experts - 05/24/20 08:14 PM

I'm shopping for new tires for a F150 with a 2.25 leveling kit. What size tire would you reccomend? What is the biggest tire that would go on with no rubbing? I do not plan on removing the crash bars.

With leveling kit probably 33” is biggest you can go with no rub.

18" factory rim.

I've researched for a few hours now. I've seen all kinds of answers.

Company that the leveling kit came from says it will allow up to a 35" inch tire. I just dont know if that is on factory rim offset.

I've got 32's underneath a 14 with no leveling kit and have no rubbing so I would assume you could get a 35 under it with a two and a half inch leveling kit.

I’m not 100% on this but I think the biggest you can go on a ford factory rim with a 2 1/4” level kit is 6.5 creedmoor

Not a Ford fan nor a fan of carppy spacer leveling kits but I have heard that you can run a 12.5x35. Go to the F150 Forum but be careful what you read. It might make you wish you had a Tundra.

On 16 w/leveling kit 35x12.5x(18/20etc) is biggest you can run.
On stock rims they may rub a little at full lock. 4.5” of backspacing never rubs with 35’s

I run 35’s with leveling kit and 4.5” of backspacing on my 15’ f250

35s are my guess too but you’d be better to find a F150 forum. I’m sure that has been asked a few times this week.

This is probably just as big an issue as the diameter. With the factory rims I would guess you might be limited on the width just a little bit more than a lot of aftermarket rims. I may have to figure this out myself before too long. I'm looking at Ford and Ram 3/4 tons and I want bigger tires than factory but prefer the factory rims.

Just keep the edge of the tire within the wheel well.

That is what fender flares are for. On the wider tires you will need to check UCA clearance. I had a buddy that put some wide tires on a jeep. They were well outside fenders. We did a lot of mudding. Rooster tails were neat but not so much with top off. Plus that Grapevine mud dries like concrete.

To answer the question accurately... you have to state a specific rim offset first, then ask the tire size question.
